Summer 2012…Best Summer Yet?
That’s the question.
Waking up today, I went to church, only for the second time since I’ve been home in Crystal Lake, and I noticed something. It’s only been 2 weeks since I left Harding, and it’s felt much longer than that!
I’m starting to miss my Harding friends, probably because I’ve had more than a decade and a half to be around the wonderful folks in my town, but my relationships at HU have only just begun. Well I’m hoping I don’t start to feel too sad about the distance, because I know that a lot of my friends are making huge differences in the lives of others around the globe.
So I’ll just say that I’m excited for what this summer has in store, both for me and my friends.
I’ll tell you what I’ll be up to.
- Grad Parties. Yep even at 20 and after my first year of college I’m still privy to invitations.
- Fitness. Between getting up to run and lift, playing soccer with friends, swimming, or volleyball, I’m looking forward to a summer of sports under the sun!
- Art. I’m talking movies and music. This summer is prime for amazing movies, including (and not limited to) Prometheus, Rock of Ages, That’s My Boy, Amazing Spider Man, and of course THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. Music is also being spotlighted in my summer plans, both by discovering new and upcoming acts, as well as going to see the musicians I’ve already discovered at LOLLAPALOOZA! (I’ll be previewing and reviewing movies and music I find)
- Track & Field. After said fitness training, I’m hoping to be in shape to participate in a few USATF meets.
- Olympics. London proper is where the action is, and hopefully I’ll be around to watch the events. (And I plan to be)
- Work. Hopefully this won’t interfere with any of the above, but this guy does need his $$$.
Well that’s about it for now. Keep watching for updates on music and movies, and my other adventures throughout the summer.
